Incoming Recruit Dwayne "Too Tall" Stanford On Why He Chose Oregon

   Because of the unique relationship Oregon has with NIKE, and NIKE founder Phil Knight, an Oregon alum, the Ducks are able to promote their brand in innovative ways.  Whether it be through billboards, or taking out ads, or most notably with their uniforms, they do it to gain a footing in the Midwest and along the eastcoast, in an attempt to attract some of these high profile recruits that wouldn't otherwise consider Oregon.

   It appears to be working.  Oregon's recruiting classes have been getting better each year.  Now there are other reasons for it, such as having success on the field.  You can't just have a hundred different uniforms, and put a crappy product out on the field (see Maryland), it just becomes a gimmick.

   A week after trotting out with their new uniforms this year, Maryland got PASTED by Temple.  Not a good look.

   But the Ducks back it up, and that's one reason why they're gaining national recognition, as Dwayne Stanford - from Cincinnati, OH - told Aaron Fentress of the Oregonian:

   “The innovation, the facilities are great,” he said. “There’s a reason behind everything that they do.” 

   As a former receiver myself, I'm always excited when Oregon lands a high profile receiver such as this one.  I can't wait to see him play!
